After many successful years designing in the fashion industry, including eighteen years at Nike, inc as lead Designer and Global Creative Director, Barbara Sumner turned her passion towards Interior Design. Her extensive international and domestic travels as well as her New York education and numerous design awards from names such as Nina Ricci, Glamour magazine and the French luxury goods company Comite Colbert honed her exquisite aesthetic. After receiving her second design degree, this time in interiors, Barbara immediately began building dream rooms for clients. Barbara’s passion for beautifully designed spaces pushes her to make each project unique. Her principles are based on basic design theory of color, scale, and proportion but she throws in the “magic” by using her creative intuition for an unexpected touch of glamour and style; down to the most minute detail!

Her love and knowledge of beautiful craftsmanship pushes her to support the best crafts people in the industry, many of which are local. Her workrooms provide exquisite custom furniture, window treatments. and accessories according to each client’s needs.

Barbara resides in Portland, Oregon with her husband Ken, daughter Olivia and Chiuaua, Maximillion, where she is close to her beloved mother and siblings. Future plans for Barbara and her ever expanding business include furniture, bedding and accessory collections of her own design.
